Ponder

November 2, 2010

Today I was talking to a friend about our futures while we were in graphic design class. We have known each other since almost day one of college. It is bizarre to see how things have changed, but how we are still the same people as 3 years ago. He was saying that he can see me being a blogger. As much as I love this idea, that would take some serious change in my blogging habits.

So since that conversation this morning, I have decided that I will start being a better blogger. I will use prettier words, give more updates on things in my life, and ponder more often. Here is my first attempt:

As a believer, I think it is very necessary to use everyday conversation to give glory to God. My sweet friends Sophie and Adair always call it “evidence of grace” in someone’s life. Instead of just saying, “how are you?” start asking “what has the Lord done in you this week?” “Where has He blessed you that you may not have given Him credit for?” These kinds of conversation not only improve the life of the believer, but also strengthen yours because you are learning ways that the Lord has been gracious to them. I have always loved this idea, but had forgotten how much of a blessing it really is. Today I read this quote by C.S. Lewis, “Let us always long to hear the stories of grace in others’ lives. Every conversion is the story of a blessed defeat.” It was such a good reminder to have joy in what the Lord is doing and has already done.

So that is what I have been thinking about today.  I shall be back tomorrow.

PS  I have a new roommate: Stossi Lenz and it is also her birthday! Happy birthday new roomie!
