La La La La

April 29, 2009

Today is going to be a good one. I feel like singing with the birds- lalalalalala.   Things need to get done and they will!  I need to write a short paper and I am going to see if I can make record time on an A paper.  I usually do everything but the paper.  This ain’t gonna fly today!  Its about the Jonah Marbles- Byzantine art from ages and ages hence.  Interesting, I know.

My goal as of late has been to be a good gift giver… that never happens.  I actually did pretty well for Chet’s birthday/Christmas.  There are many occasions to give gifts coming up so I am trying to be on my a-game.  Last night, I ordered one gift online… hopefully it will go over well.  Also me and Kaitlin gave Chet her graduation gift- couldn’t have loved it more (check out her post).  Then today I went to go purchase a mother’s day gift… not only did I do pretty good, but I found something else for my house!!!  I love these: photo-178 There were 4 for like $5.  AWESOME!  Oh and I am working hard on an idea for Holmes for grad/18th b’day.  So much in May!  Gift giving is just not in my set of skills-(Neill Brown).  I have really enjoyed giving presents when people love them though.

Oh and awesome thing about last night— me, Kait, and Chet went to Baskin Robbins before “getting stuff done at Spencers”.  We were just having a good ole time in line laughing it up, as usual.  This 50ish year old women in line behind us got in our conversation, basically small talk.  We ended up chatting it up and all of a sudden she tells the worker that she is going to  buy our ice cream.  It was so kind and perfect since none of us have tons of money laying around.  She is officially our new B.F.F.  Thanks woman.

I just need to crank out that paper now……

The Story of Spencers

April 28, 2009

Tonight is Spencer’s night…. 2nd this week… and its only Tuesday.  But here is the ironic thing about Spencers- we all come here to “do work”, but there is no way we can be productive at all.  If we really needed to get things done, we should just stay at our own homes and use our own internet.  This is the way we live and its the way I love it.  I feel that when I look back at college, I won’t remember doing homework or going to class (though these are essential).  It really is about the friendships I have made and the memories that will stick in my mind.  Spencers is the Dean and Deluca of Bowling Green.  It makes life great and we can all lie saying we have things to do.

Time is quickly running away.  Its quiet depressing/exciting.  I cannot wait for summer, but at the same time I don’t want this time in my life to end.  Half way done with college is really intimidating.  I am so good with it though.  I will forever love Spencer’s and the square.  This weather has made me so happy!!!!  Sitting in the square with a quiet breeze and a good friend equals perfection.

This weekend was so much like Summer ’08.  I went down to Nashville to see the fam.  We hit up Satco (twice) and had some time to kill Friday night.  I suggested the Parthenon… it didn’t go over so well at first, but we decided to go and it was so great.  There was perfect weather plus music.  Nashville is always a treat and so is getting my camera back!  Thanks Dad!

This one is my favorite of the night.

I thought this kid was precious.

I really do not like this dog…. but the photo is worth it.

Last summer will never happen again and I’m ok with that.  Its fun to think about the memories though.

It has been a great week.  The older I get the more I realize I love to check things off my To Do list.  At the beginning of this week my list was the longest thing ever… but I crossed so many things off!!! This thrills me.  Today is going to be a good one.  I need to head to the Talisman and get some stuff designed… but as soon as thats done I’m headed to Nash.  The fam is coming up to film some lacrosse games and we are fitting in a little visit.  Plus I get to see Graham and Benji who I haven’t seen since Christmas-ish.  That is a little over due I would have to say.

The Fray recorded Kayne’s Heartless… that helped me get through the week.  I love that song! I really love their version since it isn’t rap crap.  Take a listen to it.

This is my magazine spread project for Print Design… its in the works.

This is a graphic for Burton.  I’m going to have to give all the credit to Holmes.  The whole army theme was his idea. I think it turned out pretty well.  Thanks brotha.
