I’m five days and a couple hours from the wedding and the question I have heard so many times is- “Do you have cold feet??”

My answer is not at all. I am so excited to marry Ryan and to start our lives together. I couldn’t imagine my life without him. Now that this week is finally here, I just can’t wait for things to start happening! All of the festivities are going to be so happy with the people I love all around us. See you this weekend!!!

P.S. why do people ask such a question??

I remember the day this album came out. I had been waiting for it for a while. This song was the first of the album… I fell in love. Its so fun! I remember Lauren and I couldn’t get out of my car because we were obsessed to it. Now Ryan and I share an love for Ray Lay so this song is clearly one of our favorites. ENJOY!

Today as I am only 12 short days from marrying Ryan, I have been thinking about the things that have taken place to get us to this point. Telling friends from home about our lives together has seemed more ironic to me than it did before I returned to Memphis. The Lord has orchestrated our relationship in a way that we could have (nor probably would have) planned. We both grew up just 11 miles from each other for 15 years.

He graduated from high school and moved to Bowling Green, Kentucky to attend Western. Then I followed just a year later. It seems humanly ridiculous, but the Lord’s timing was perfect. We needed to be those people when we met– not years prior for some reason or another. We developed a friendship with no sense of attraction for the first year and a half. This sort of shocks me because we are both planners and were both caught off guard by our feelings just months later. The first 3 months of our new interest in each other was divided by and 11 hour distance between Bowling Green and Dallas where we had to get to know each other by phone calls (something I am so grateful for now). And here we are– 12 days away from committing the rest of our lives to each other– and we are still getting to know each other by our phones. Besides the year and a half we have shared together in Bowling Green as a couple, our relationship has been ironically distant. The times we didn’t know each other at all, we were so so close. And when we wish to be together, we are hours apart.

The good news is that we will be together soon until death do us part.

Ps. The posts from now until the wedding will be songs that are significant to Ryan and my relationship (for various reasons). Some are artists when have loved for years and grew to love more together, others are new artists we were introduced to during our relationship. Some have deep meaning and others are ones we just like to sing at the top of our lungs with the windows down.

The gist is that busyness is here, but I will continue to blog. Stay tuned for a new song and a surprise to be revealed.
